Inspiring girls into STEM at RMS Futures Fair
Earlier this month, XPark Games had the pleasure of exhibiting at the RMS for Girls Futures’ Fair: a vibrant event bringing together over 500 students and parents alongside 40+ exhibitors from a wide range of industries.
What stood out most was the level of curiosity and engagement from students. Many were already showing a strong interest in cybersecurity careers, asking thoughtful questions about real-world roles, career pathways, and the skills they’d need to break into the field. It’s inspiring to see that level of STEM careers awareness at such an early stage of their education.
We also had brilliant conversations with parents, many of whom were keen to understand how the digital careers landscape is evolving and how they can better support their daughters in navigating these new opportunities. With AI, cloud, and cybersecurity reshaping the world of work, the questions parents are asking today look very different from a decade ago, and that’s exactly why edtech tools designed for the modern workplace matter.
Our interactive, gamified virtual work experience sparked meaningful discussions and gave students a hands-on way to explore careers in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the wider digital economy. Rather than reading about what a network security analyst or AI engineer does, students stepped into the role and tackled the kind of challenges those professionals face every day. That shift: from passive to active careers education - is exactly what we set out to enable.
A huge thank you to the RMS team, and especially Liz Pickford, for organising such a well-run and impactful event. Events like Girls Futures’ Fair play a vital role in helping young women see themselves in STEM careers and in supporting schools to deliver against the Gatsby Benchmarks.
If you’re a school or careers leader looking to bring engaging, career-focused digital experiences to your students, we’d love to connect. And if you’re an employer, we’d love to partner with you to showcase your career pathways, build early-talent pipelines, and engage future candidates through immersive, gamified virtual work experience.
Moments like these remind us why we started XPark Games: to help young people confidently explore who they can become.
