XPark Games delivers virtual work experience in 6 schools

XPark Games is heading back into the classroom: and we couldn’t be more excited.

Over the next two months, we’ve been invited to take part in six school events across the south of England, ranging from interactive careers workshops to large-scale careers fairs. We’ll be working with schools in Guildford, Ash, Hemel Hempstead, Farnborough, and Portsmouth, meeting hundreds of students who are actively exploring their next steps and future career pathways.

For us, this is what edtech is really about: putting young people in the driving seat of their own discovery. Through our gamified virtual work experience platform, students get a hands-on taste of what it’s actually like to work in fast-growing fields like cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and the wider digital economy — long before they have to commit to a college, university, or apprenticeship route.

We believe career exploration should be interactive, engaging, and inspiring, never passive. Sitting through a slide deck about STEM careers is one thing; stepping into the shoes of a network security professional or an AI engineer through a game is something else entirely. That’s the difference our experiences are designed to make, and it’s why we’ve built them in close partnership with educators, employers, and careers leaders.

The timing matters too. With UK schools working hard to deliver against the Gatsby Benchmarks and give every young person meaningful encounters with employers and the workplace, scalable digital tools like ours can support careers leaders in reaching every student, not just those lucky enough to secure a traditional placement.

We can’t wait to meet the curious, motivated, and ambitious students we’ll be working with over the coming weeks. Their questions, ideas, and energy are always the highlight of any school visit: and a powerful reminder of why we do this work.
