XPark Games on AI and STEM careers at George Abbot School

We were delighted to join a panel of industry professionals at this inspiring careers event hosted by George Abbot School, where students, parents, and carers came together to explore one of the biggest questions facing young people today: how is AI reshaping the world of work?

In our session, we shared insights on how AI is transforming the landscape for tech startups,  from accelerating innovation to opening entirely new possibilities for creative problem-solving. We also walked the audience through how we use AI at XPark Games every day:

As a creative partner in designing our gamified career experiences, helping us build richer, more responsive scenarios that bring STEM careers to life.

As a powerful career recommendation engine that supports personalised guidance for students, complementing the work of careers leaders rather than replacing it.

As a productivity enhancer, helping our small team work smarter and ship faster:  a daily reality for almost every modern tech business.

What made the evening special was the calibre of questions from young people in the room. They asked about ethics, about jobs that don’t exist yet, about what they should study, and about how to keep their options open in an AI-enabled future. That kind of curiosity is exactly what edtech and careers education should be unlocking, and it’s why we believe gamified virtual work experience belongs at the heart of modern careers programmes.

A huge thank you to the organisers at George Abbot School and to our fellow panellists for making the evening so impactful. Events like this support schools to deliver against the Gatsby Benchmarks by giving students meaningful encounters with employers and a more grounded view of real-world career pathways.

If you’re a careers leader or head of computer science looking to bring engaging, future-focused careers conversations into your school, we’d love to talk about how XPark Games can support your programme. And if you’re an employer who would like to inspire the next generation of STEM talent, we’d love to hear from you about partnering on a gamified experience that showcases your career pathways.
