XPark Games at The Sixth Form College Farnborough’s Moving On Day
What an inspiring day at The Sixth Form College Farnborough’s ‘Moving On Day’ - one of the largest celebrations of post-16 futures we’ve been part of, and a brilliant reminder of how much potential there is in this next generation of digital and STEM talent.
We were thrilled to showcase XPark Games and our gamified approach to exploring digital careers to hundreds of curious and motivated students. Over the course of the day, we ran two seminars and welcomed a steady stream of students to our stand for hands-on play and conversation.
Exploring Digital Careers
In our first seminar, we took students on a tour of some of the most exciting and fast-growing areas in tech, AI, the Internet of Things (IoT), game development, cybersecurity, and the wider digital economy. We unpacked what these careers actually look like day-to-day, the kind of skills and routes that lead into them, and how gamified virtual work experience can help young people decide whether these STEM career pathways are right for them.
Launching a Tech Startup
In our second seminar, we shared insights, challenges, and opportunities from our own entrepreneurial journey building XPark Games. From early product validation to working with schools, employer partners, and accelerators, we tried to give students an honest picture of what it takes to build a tech startup. The questions from the floor were sharp, thoughtful, and ambitious - a real testament to the curiosity and drive of Sixth Form College Farnborough students.
Why events like Moving On Day matter
With 140 exhibitors and 200 speakers, Moving On Day is exactly the kind of large-scale, multi-pathway careers event that supports schools and colleges in delivering against the Gatsby Benchmarks. For students, it’s a chance to compare options across higher education, apprenticeships, technical routes, and direct-to-industry pathways under one roof. For careers leaders and employer partners, it’s a model worth scaling.
A huge thank you to the team at The Sixth Form College Farnborough for organising such a meaningful event. We left energised, full of ideas, and even more committed to inspiring the next generation through interactive, game-based experiences that make digital careers accessible and fun.
If you’d like to bring XPark Games to your school, sixth form, or college, we’d love to talk.
